Northwest Coast Trails Coalition (NCTC) evolved as a regional collaboration to serve and connect communities via non-motorized trails in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington. Expanding from the Warrenton Trails Association (WTA), the coalition was formed in 2015, with the plan to cooperatively plan, build, maintain and advocate for a well-connected and accessible system of multiuse, non-motorized recreational trails. The NCTC vision is a healthy walkable community enjoying a multiuse trail system with connections between neighborhoods and cities, and providing access to recreational and historic sites in the region.

“The grassroots nonprofit Warrenton Trails Association transformed this year into a regional group with a wider focus. “The local association became the Northwest Coast Trails Coalition. It includes about 16 members from all corners of the county, including from Cannon Beach Public Works, Clatsop County Public Health and Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. “The first step for the group is to get all trail-related activities in one place, as a part of the coalition. Work is centered on building a website, doing outreach at the places such as the Astoria Sunday Market and eventually organizing people to do more trail maintenance.” For a longer article, visit http://bit.ly/NCTCforms
